Hello!
Well, as the days draw closer to Christmas, the team has been very busy both with paranormal related events and personal events. Now that I have some things sorted and out of the way, I am hoping to have more time to post here, share some adventures and keep you updated on this story called life.
The other day we got an emergency call for help, so tonight we will be interviewing the Client and doing a preliminary investigation. I hope we can help this family out, whatever their problems turn out to be, be it paranormal or not.
We are currently going over audio and video from our last investigation at a very old historic building. It was a very interesting night and for me it was even more special as my Dad was there with the Client, as per the Client. I never thought I would get to investigate with my Dad, it's usually my Mom that I talk to about the paranormal stuff, guess I am pretty lucky that both my parents can embrace what I do. I look forward to see what all my team has found in our audio/video/photo, and am excited for when we present to the Client and my Dad.
For those that are celebrating Christmas, I hope your shopping is going well, your decorations are up and the carols are playing!
It's time for me to run off to our prelim, I hope to be able to update you soon on that and other things we have been busy with. I wish everyone a wonderful loving caring day. If you can, share a smile today; it can go a long way in your life and in someone else's.

Canada Day - EVP Samples
On Canada Day, we got to set up a tent at Coquitlam's Lafarge Lake Canada Day celebration! It was a fantastic day, met a lot of great people, heard a lot of neat stories! I would like to thanks our whole team for making it out that day, and would like to thank everyone who stopped by to visit us!
One of the things we had set up were some EVP for people to listen to. Not everyone was able to listen to them, and sometimes when the music festivities got too loud, it was too hard to hear them, so I am going to post those here for anyone who missed them! Later on this week, I will post some of the wonderful drawings that some of the kids who stopped by did for us!

My Visit To The Stanley Hotel
A few weeks ago (April, Friday the 13th!) I got to attend an event at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, an event sponsosed by TAPS Paramagazine. Got to meet some great people, Jason Hawes, Amy Bruni, Britt Griffith, Adam Berry, KJ McComick (all from Ghost Hunters), Ben Hansen (Fact or Faked), Rex Williams (Destination Truth), Anthony Guajardo (Walking Dead), Adam Blai (gave a wonderful talk on Demonoligy from a Roman Catholic perspective), Mike Brody (Comedian), and Chip Coffey. I learnt a great deal, heard lots of neat stuff and it was such an amazing experience I feel lucky I was able to go.
The hotel itself...WOW! The room I stayed in (1013 of the Manor House) was somewhat active. I could hear things constantly moving through the air around the room, various knocks and such on the walls (with no rooms on the other side of those walls), feeling someone in my space, right close to me as I try to sleep, hearing footsteps across the floor a few times, heard some whispering (again, no room on 3 sides of my room).
Friday night was a meet and greet, had a blast, wandered around the hotel (Holy static electricity! Be warned of that if you ever go! lol). After a long day of travelling, altitude difference and meeting so many people so fast, it was kind of an early night. I had attemped a nap, but due to "invisible guests" keeping me awake, it didnt happen. Once I got back to my room after a long fun filled night, I was out like a light and slept fairly well!
Saturday and Sunday daytime were filled with talks from all the people I mentioned above. LOVED IT! I think my most favorite talk was Adam Blai's (Demonology from a Roman Catholic Perspective), but really...they were all awesome!
On the Saturday night (April 14) I invited a few people back to my room to conduct an evp session. Once the session was over, everyone left and as soon as they were gone I felt instant dread. I had not felt that scared in quite a long while! I am not sure if I had picked up on some residual energy left by one of the participants that I did not like, or if "someone" angry had entered my room. When I was in the bathroom, I could hear footsteps and people moving furiously about my room, upsetting me enough that I instantly left the bathroom out of fear. I went out into the hall of the hotel, trying to figure out what to do, after a couple minutes of breathing calming and getting a hold of myself, I went back into my room. NO! Instant fear, it felt like I had the look of death on me from every direction. Back out into the hallway....OK. Breathe! After a few more minutes I cluttered my mind with noise (music, chattering, logic problems) walked back into my room, turned all the lights on, turned the TV on loud, said some prayers, played with crystals, got into bed and watched a silly movie..after about an hour and a half the badly tainted air suddently cleared and I was finally able to sleep.
On Sunday night my group did an investigation of various parts of the hotel. It was neat to see more of the hotel and visit some areas that had alot of activity. During some of the evp sessions we had, heard some disembodied voices, was touched several times, and I am excited to see what all I caught on my recorder. In hindsight, I wish I had taken one of my video cameras with me, next time for sure!
Thanks to Beyond Reality Events for a wonderful time! Please check out their website for future events: http://www.beyondrealityevents.com/
From here on out, I would like to attend at least one paranormal event a year. The people, the experience..it is so worth it. I just wish there were more happening in Canada.
Now I am off to listen to more evp sessions from my stay there...

Residential Investigation - February 18, 2012
Tonight we are investigating at a residential property and it is looking to be quite interesting and perhaps bringing us into new "paranormal" territory. We will be traveling to Burnaby, to an area we have not investigated yet. Attending will be Darryl, Connie, Lisa, Steve and myself. Steve is putting his birthday plans (HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE) on hold to attend. Ken and Holly will not be there, but will be missed!
Wishing everyone a safe and wondeful evening!

In the News....
Happy New Year everyone!
One of our members was browsing through the local paper and came across an article titled: The best shots of 2011: Our photographer's picks. Included in the "best shots" was a photo that staff photographer Paul vanPeenen had taken of two NPI members (Darryl Pearson and Connie Seelinger) before our Halloween meet & greet in Port Moody at the It's My Party Shop!
Check out the article here:

Residential Investigation
Residential Investigation
Following is a brief account of one of our private residential investigations. Client names have been changed to protect their identity.
With residential investigations a group just never really knows what they are going to run into. The Client had a lot of information on the history of the site, and explained to us the personal experiences her and her family had.
During our initial meeting with Leanne, NPI was informed that not only was she experiencing things in her home, but also her daughter Tracy and Tracy’s boyfriend were having experiences. Her son did not seem to sense anything in the house (although we did catch some EVP in his bedroom).
For some reason, most of the reported activity seemed to be centered around Tracy’s room. Leanne is somewhat sensitive and feels Tracy might have inherited this trait and is worried that something might be hanging around Tracy. Leanne had a few psychics brought into her house, some who said there was a vortex in front of Tracy’s room. Leanne had also brought people in to bless the house, which was not successful. She eventually heard about our team and contacted us, in hopes we could find out what was going on.
Leanne told us that people would experience the feeling of being watched in Tracy’s room, and that objects would be moved around her room. Shadows are reported to be seen throughout the house, and also a general uneasiness.
After our initial meeting, three members of NPI set out to investigate the home for the night. The hours went by fairly quietly, but in Tracy’s room, all three investigators had the feeling that one picture was causing apprehension and uncertainty. One of the investigators could feel a mental/psychical blockage in front of the door to Tracy’s bedroom. It was only later that she was told about the supposed vortex. Perhaps there really is something located there…but we could not confirm it.
During the course of the investigation, a shadow was seen in the kitchen three times, but was never caught on video and investigators were unable to either prove or debunk what had made the shadows, although they were able to determine that most outside sources could not have made them.
Now, earlier it was mentioned that it was a fairly quiet night, but even though it seemed quiet, we did manage to pick up some EVP throughout the night. All was not as quiet as we thought…
The rest of the information on the investigation is confidential (this is just a brief recounting out of many hours of investigation and interviews with the Client), so we will leave you here with some audio clips.
Please check out the EVP below and let us know what you think.

The Haunted Hatley Castle
The Haunted Hatley Castle
Located in the heart of picturesque Victoria, British Columbia, the Hatley Castle is a beautiful Victorian replica of a 15th century Edwardian castle built in 1908 by a wealthy rail baron named James Dunsmuir. At the time the castle was built, Dunsmuir was serving as the Premier and Lt Governor of British Columbia. Subsequently, the Hatley Castle hosted several of the area’s most elite and formal parties and high-society functions.
Tragedy struck the Dunsmuir family a few years later when their son, James Jr., was killed in World War I while serving in the military. James died in 1920 and his wife, Laura, and daughter, Eleanor, lived at the estate until Laura died in 1937 – Eleanor passed away a mere six months later.
In 1940, the castle was purchased and turned into the Royal Naval College of Canada, where some 600 volunteer reserve officers were trained. In the years since then, the training facility eventually became known as the Royal Roads Military College.
Since the academy’s inception back in 1940, there have been countless reports of apparitions and paranormal activity. The ghost of a woman, believed to be that of Laura Dunsmuir, has been seen lurking in dark corners and stairwells and warns young cadets that they may be subject to the same fate that her son was. The apparition of James Jr. has also been seen in his full military uniform, wandering around the lake near the Japanese Gardens on the property. Another ghost that haunts the old castle is Annabelle, a young servant girl who, after her love affair with a young trainee went sour during the early days of the academy, jumped to her death from a high window.
Today, the academy is known as the Royal Roads University; though it may have changed hands and names throughout the years, stories still persist regarding the ghosts that haunt Hatley Castle.
